Ni No Kuni is an adventure and fantasy role playing video game that made people sit up and take notice due to its beautiful animation and intricate story line. Sure, it’s rare enough that we have complex enough story lines that make sense in actual movies and book, but the sad part is that it is even more rarely applied to video games. But Ni No Kuni rocks that foundation, and it does it with such interesting style and beautiful visuals that any hard core gamer will be intrigued. While it is true that many gamers might shrug off a poor or illogical story line in a video game if the gameplay is challenging enough, it is also true that it is an added bonus to many gamers when the story line and plot of the game is as interesting as the gameplay. And that’s precisely what Ni No Kuni offers! With a gameplay that uniquely combines the RPG combat styles of both Western as well as Japanese gameplay, in addition to beautifully animated scenes and a story line that cleverly weaves cause and effect scenarios, gamers will thoroughly enjoy role playing as Oliver on this journey to ‘Another World’. It is often the case in the gaming world that we describe a game – by way of a compliment – that we should play it because it’s wonderfully addictive. And it’s true. We often get drawn to games that can capture our attention enough for us to forget everything else and simply focus on the game alone. It is a release, an escape. A welcome change to our sometimes often humdrum lives. And it’s all true too. No one’s denying the fact. However, it is prudent to note that “an escape” and “a release” is often how people describe their dependency and justification for abusing alcohol (and other dangerously addictive substances) as well.
As a gamer, we would all, at one time or another, have had the experience of losing track of time and our surroundings to simply play a video game for hours on end. In a way, this is what makes video games appealing in the first place – giving us the opportunity to lose our sense of reality and just enjoy ourselves for a time. It’s really no different from how someone might lose track of everything while reading a good book, or listening to music, or even while daydreaming. The Mines, the Triple-Max, and the Final Escape Attempt – The Final Part of Riddick’s Escape in ‘The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay’ Video Game
‘The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay’ is a popular video game that squarely falls in the action and adventure genres of video games. Set in a futuristic world on a desolate planet that houses a maximum security prison called “Butcher Bay”, this is a first person, role play video game that focusses ten times more on stealth and tactics in its game design rather than on fire power. There’s plenty of blood and gore in this video game, and the visual graphics are mind blowing! So if you haven’t given this game a go yet, you’re really missing out.
Positive Aspects of Playing Video Games: It Assists and Encourages a Person’s Ability to Process Different Kinds of Information at Once
When a person plays a video game, he or she will never be able to tell you or pin point one particular activity that they are engaged with at any point of time during the game. And if you ask, you will often get a series of answers (if they deign to interrupt their concentration on the game to answer you at all, that is) like fighting enemies, avoiding traps, collecting artifacts and points to improve their score or upgrade their player character’s abilities, doubling back to collect something else, performing a series or combinations of moves, interacting with other players, etc. Continue reading “Positive Aspects of Playing Video Games: It Assists and Encourages a Person’s Ability to Process Different Kinds of Information at Once” »
Socially, there are (at the most general level) two basic types of people: Introverts and Extroverts. Now, for a long time – and even now in the current generation and era – the real life social situation is more or less designed to facilitate the extroverts. Which is why it is really no surprise when we see introverted people cringe, avoid, and generally hide in such social situations. In fact, you can often pick out a person (or persons) that lean towards an introverted nature quite easily in the real life social crowd. They are the people who stand awkwardly alone or cling to a single friend or small group. It is that person who seems physically ill when someone tries to make small talk with them. You will even find some of them hovering near areas where the exit is within easy reach or quick access! Forget that. You yourself might be this kind of person and will often find yourself trying to avoid real life social situations with a vengeance. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege is a thrilling role playing, anti-terrorism video game with the hostage as the main center of focus! From the debut and sneak peeks, the environments of this game world are destructible, the hostage negotiations and extractions are heart-pumpingly intense, and the tactical co-operative play within the game is simply mind-blowing!
The E3 demo that was released in 2014 gave players a glimpse of soldiers having to break through wall and rooftops and practically any penetrable construction feature that might be penetrable. And the destructible environments in the game are part of each and every level, so players can be as “bash-happy” as they wish to be in this game.
