The Intricate Plot Of Ni No Kuni: The Villains’ Stories

Ni No Kuni

When you actually stop to think about it, it’s actually pretty amazing how much is happening in the story line of the video game Ni No Kuni (or otherwise known as ‘Another World’). It’s not that such intricate stories don’t exist (they do), it’s just that they are rare and then even rarer in the case of story lines for video games. Sure, in recent years, game designers have certainly tried to give gamers more and more freedom within the game in various ways; they have even tried to not mash together story lines and have gotten better at giving the plot a logical sequence (meaning that a story or incident in a video game won’t make us grimace much when we pause for a moment to think about it). However, to use intricate and complex story lines in a video game is still fairly new – and that’s now! And this game was first released a few years earlier, so imagine what a difference it was then! Well, at least it’s no wonder why the game gained so much of popularity and acclaim. Continue reading “The Intricate Plot Of Ni No Kuni: The Villains’ Stories” »

Ni No Kuni’s Villains – Part 1: Shadar The Evil Wizard

Ni No Kuni is a wonderful role playing game that is rife with plot twists and interesting characters. It employs a combat gameplay style that is reminiscent of both western and Japanese style Role Playing Games, and its beautifully animated scenes and incredible visual designs make this a game you certainly don’t want to miss! It’s not a very recent game (Although “recent” here is speaking in terms of video games, and that trend can change in a heart beat.) but it certainly packs a punch. And other than that, the video game’s plot and host of lively and intriguing characters is as engaging as any of the newest games that have been released. Ni No Kuni’s Plot Is Strongly Based On Cause And Effect Scenarios And The Power Of Emotions!

Ni No Kuni

Ni No Kuni is an adventure and fantasy role playing video game that made people sit up and take notice due to its beautiful animation and intricate story line. Sure, it’s rare enough that we have complex enough story lines that make sense in actual movies and book, but the sad part is that it is even more rarely applied to video games. But Ni No Kuni rocks that foundation, and it does it with such interesting style and beautiful visuals that any hard core gamer will be intrigued. While it is true that many gamers might shrug off a poor or illogical story line in a video game if the gameplay is challenging enough, it is also true that it is an added bonus to many gamers when the story line and plot of the game is as interesting as the gameplay. And that’s precisely what Ni No Kuni offers! With a gameplay that uniquely combines the RPG combat styles of both Western as well as Japanese gameplay, in addition to beautifully animated scenes and a story line that cleverly weaves cause and effect scenarios, gamers will thoroughly enjoy role playing as Oliver on this journey to ‘Another World’. Ni No Kuni’s Villains – Part 2: The White Witch

Ni No Kuni - White Witch

Ni No Kuni is a role playing game that has secured awards and received critical acclaim for its amazing gameplay and story line. One of the most intriguing parts of this game’s plots and twists though, is that the villains are not simply there because the game requires it. No. In Ni No Kuni, which is also called “Another World”, “The Other World”, and “Second Country”, the antagonists of the game have as much of a role and back story as the protagonists do. And this game provides not one, but two villains: The evil wizard Shadar, and the White Witch. The story line in the game establishes a link between the White Witch and the wizard Shadar, and though the link is concrete, they are not really (outwardly) dependant on each other at the same time. In fact, we only learn about the White Witch well into the story and nearing the final stage of Shadar’s defeat. Continue reading “Ni No Kuni’s Villains – Part 2: The White Witch” »

One of the best parts of ‘Ni No Kuni’ or ‘Another World’ is the fun host of characters in it. For the characters make the story, and the story was one of the main features of the game (other than the visuals and gameplay) that really earned Ni No Kuni its acclaim after the game’s release.
